#4: Descent to Adventdalen

We woke at 6am to a strong wind and low cloud but by the time we emerged from tents the sky had cleared and wind had dropped. Even the sun emerged from behind Soleietoppen (mountain). But it was a bitter descent with the -30.5c overnight lingering all too long. To boot a cold northerly breeze blew in our faces and it took until lunch for toes to warm up. On arrival at the Adventdalen road we bid goodbye to Sacha who had unfortunately strained a quad on the first day and called up a taxi to take her into town. We look forward to seeing her again on Monday. We’re now camped near the entry to Foxdalen and tomorrow will do a day trip up the valley and onto Fox glacier.
