The wind abated overnight, replaced by a heavy whiteout, so we dug out our tents and headed blindly up Fulmardalen.
Snow continued to fall throughout the morning, and with warm temperatures (-5), and a slight incline, it was a battle to avoid getting wet (either from sweat if we had our shell jackets on, or snow if we took them off!)
By lunchtime we found ourselves at the base of Marmorbreen, a small glacier that will take us up onto the Hellefonna icecap.
The avalanche risk is quite high at the moment, and the low visibility meant we were potentially in for an early finish to the day. By a stroke of luck however, as we ate our noodles the fog cleared substantially, allowing us safe passage to a small flat spot half way up the glacier where we would camp.
Clear skies forecast for late morning tomorrow, so hoping for some speccy views as we cross over Hellefonna.
Not many photos today due to soupy conditions!
