After some last minute packing and briefing in the warehouse this morning, we loaded our sleds and piled into the belt wagon.
We unloaded, ate lunch and then left our sleds behind to ski into a narrow, winding gully at the end of which lies ‘Eskerfossen’, a frozen waterfall.
After our little test ski we were ready for the real deal! We attached our sleds and headed east up Sassendalen through gloomy conditions. Tempelfjorden provided a particularly moody backdrop as we fell into line and found a rhythm.
We managed almost two full sessions before the diminishing light meant time to set up camp.
From the short time we’ve spent together, it is easy to see that our team is strong, efficient, and quick to learn and implement skills. Can’t wait to see what we will achieve over the next 8 days!
