The Siglin Pulk is made from the same material we make our Flexi base plates from. Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a remarkable material, it’s incredibly tough and takes a lot of abrasion from rocks, perfect for the coldest temps on Earth as well as rental applications and spring conditions.
UHMWPE can't be rotomolded or heat formed so the Siglin Pulk bow and stern are ingeniously created by bolting together stacked leaves cut into the sheet.
The runners on the Siglin Pulk are cleverly folded into the sheet before shaping the bow and stern.
Siglin Pulks are fitted with 8mm 16-strand hollow-braid Polyethylene hauling traces, and braided nylon rim lines.

To make the sled load as narrow as possible for pulling, try loading it about six inches deep with heavy gear, then lacing the pulk tightly to pull the sides in. A second layer can then be tied on top. The sides can be pulled together at the front, or the center of the front can be pulled back to alter the angle at which the front of the sled meets the snow in deep snow conditions.
