#8: tent bound
A full on blizzard developed overnight with manic drift-riddled blasts hammering the tents. A strong gust triggered one of the bear perimeter flares arroyos 2am and I popped my head out to scan the camp, no bear in there. With our upgraded double wire system a bear would likely trigger two flares. A few minutes later Mardi was outside for a thorough check, so too Anh with his flare gun.
No change by morning and we called an hour delay that led to an extra night in camp. In the afternoon I repositioned all of the sled walls to ward off a shift in wind.
Winds have abated now and with vis improving we hope to be on the move tomorrow. We have a lot of ground to cover.
