An uneventful ski back to Camp Barentz and the waiting bus was entirely atypical of our 2022 Svalbard Polar Primer. We really did have everything the Arctic can offer - cold, ice, gales, sunshine, glaciers, snowcapped mountains, and camaraderie. The guys were all superb, handled everything with confidence, growing skill and humour. I love the fact that names on a computer, which is what every customer starts off as, are indeed humans, with characters, stories and ambitions that become embedded in the beauty of the Arctic, and the Arctic embedded in them.
